Acordo antipirataria viola leis da Europa, diz órgão da UE

Now in a detailed report, the European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS) said that elements of the ACTA are incompatible with EU Law. Giovanni Buttarelli, assistant EDPS, warned:

Measures that entail the indiscriminate or widespread monitoring of internet user’ behaviour, and/or electronic communications, in relation to trivial, small-scale not for profit infringement would be disproportionate and in breach of [individuals’ right to privacy under the European Convention on Human Rights], [individuals’ right to privacy and the protection of their personal data under] the Charter of Fundamental Rights, and the Data Protection Directive,” he said.

“However, the generalised monitoring followed by the storage of data on a general scale for the purpose of enforcing claims, such as the scanning of the Internet as such, or all the activity in P2P networks, would go beyond what is legitimate.  Leia mais AQUI.

Portugal comprometido com assinatura do ACTA

Em Fevereiro deste ano, a União Europeia assinou um primeiro compromisso no sentido de aprovar o acordo comercial de anti-contrafacção, denominado Anti Counterfeiting Trade Act (ACTA). Portugal foi um dos 22 países que assumiram hoje esse vínculo com o texto do acordo, juntamente  com o Reino Unido, França, Irlanda, Grécia, Itália, Espanha entre outros.  A declaração de intenções, terá ainda de ser ratificado entre  29 de Fevereiro e 1 de Março, pelo Parlamento Europeu para ter validade legal. (pessoalmente acho que votei muito mal em relação a quem coloquei lá em Bruxelas. O sistema está viciado. A nossa constituição tem que ser alterada para que o povo Português se pronuncie em Referendos. Já vimos que quem colocámos em Bruxelas, com excepção de muito poucos, não nos representam.)
